What makes us stand in judgement of another-is it envy of that person, or perhaps they are not living according to our rules that “we” put in place as to how life should be lived? That’s not the dress that we would have selected for her, or that is definitely not the right suit for him! That hairstyle doesn’t fit her face, she needs a perm, or I would have done that style differently. He/she could lose a few pounds, or she needs to eat a meal. He should not be with her, he needs a better car, or is he wearing the same shirt that he had on the other day? They could have cleaned up– The criticisms and critiquing goes on and on. It’s been said that when you point your finger at someone, there is four fingers point back at you. Are we making the rules that all should live by? Who put us in charge? Do we for one minute think that someone is not saying the same about us? Are we perfect, no blemishes? Do you ever stop to think that person is happy just being them? We should stop trying to live everyone else’s life and just live our own. We give ourselves gray hairs, worrying about others. The bible teaches us judge not lest we be judged, , take the log out of our own eyes first, what we reap, we will sow (Matt 7:1-3 ).What we put out there will come back, so we need to be careful about what we’re putting out there. It will come knocking at our door. Examine ourselves, trying showing love and respect to others.Don’t you know God owns our status?
New International Version (NIV)
7 “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
6 “Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.
