Unmerited Favor

ImageWhat happens when the guilt is beyond estimate and the result is irretrievable? When there is no way to undo what was done? There is simply no way to make amends. We know that we can’t go back in time, so we find ourselves with a couple of choices, we can sit there in our yesterdays, keep playing the mistake over and over in our minds like a movie, or we can get act together, repent, ask God for forgiveness and pray the we do not bring that same guilt into our future( Psalm 51). Even if you were the victim, scars need to heal. You can’t keep sitting there with an open wound. We can reflect on our past, but only as a reminder to not take that same path again. Our yesterdays should not dictate our todays. Here is another thought, the only one that wants to keep you guilty and ashamed is the devil. We can’t fully praise God or do the work that He has for us if we continue to walk around with a guilty conscience. We did what we did, let the past go, stop trying to fix yesterday, our work is for today. So if anyone is constantly bringing up your past, trying to keep you down, not wanting you to grow or move ahead, keep giving you a hands down , instead of a hands-up, then that person is not of God. That’s a person that should examine themselves. Ask God to keep you from harm and enlarge your territory, with the right people (1 Chronicles 4:10 ).

2 Corinthians 5:17-20

17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[a] The old has gone, the new is here!18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.
