Households of Faith

Our gifts

We all know that our start in life, starts within our household. Spending time with our family is very important. It’s quality- not quantity. What is our homes filled with? Is it filled with laughter, joy, praise and worship- or it a home of dread, arguing, fighting, abuse, confusion, alcohol/drugs or even worse? Is there strength and unity within the home, is it built on a solid foundation, is it a household of faith that serves the Lord is it a house of faith?  Or is it filled with despair and can be easily destroyed by the smallest wind blow? How can we control what is going on in our homes, with our children if we are not being a good example for them? We are our children s first teachers, not the schools, that’s where we send our kids for academic purposes, or the community leaders, TV, or the court system. We have to love our family enough to care about their home life, because what’s in there will determine how they handle themselves out there. Some parents are just selfish and spend little or no time with the family. While many spend so much time focusing on others, or trying to control and repair things outside of the home- when their own home is falling apart at the seams. Then, there are the parents that appreciate their blessings and their gifts from God, the ones that know that they are responsible loving, caring and for sowing good seed within their own home, so the harvest will be good.

Mark 3:23-27

23 So Jesus called them over to him and began to speak to them in parables: “How can Satan drive out Satan? 24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.25 If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.26 And if Satan opposes himself and is divided, he cannot stand; his end has come. 27 In fact, no one can enter a strong man’s house without first tying him up. Then he can plunder the strong man’s house.

Joshua 24:15

15 But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

Be blessed, keep God first, and keep looking up.
