Being Thankful

Be careful not to fall into the same pattern that the children of Israel did after God had brought them out of Egypt. Though He had supplied their every need, protection, food, shelter, sun by day, fire by night. They were still not satisfied, they were ungrateful. It is so easy to fall into that same trap, grumbling, complaining, never being thankful and enjoy for the blessings that He has given. The blessings that are right there in our faces. Instead we look at others, and want what they have, the career, the home, the car, the family, etc. The same way that love, peace and joy is contagious, so is complaining, ungratefulness and confusion. We miss out on our “promised land” because we are too busy envying someone else, or complaining. Our own actions become our outcome. It’s like telling God that what He has done for us, and all that He has given is not enough. Take a moment every day and give God thanks, because greater is coming.

1 Thessalonians 5:18

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Colossians 3:15-17

And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him

Be blessed, keep God first, and keep looking up.
