When we look at all that we have, do we say “wow, look at all that I’ve accomplished? Or do we thank God for our blessings? It’s the same with our salvation, there is nothing that we can buy, do or say, ,The truth is, no matter how great “we” think we are, or how many billions, millions, or thousands…or hundreds, we have we can not buy, work for, or give remission for sin. Salvation is a gift not a source that can be worked for. So never sit in church, bible study, or anywhere feeling less than anyone else in the room. Never consider yourself to be any better than the person next to you, ot the person begging on the street, or sleeping on the street because God doesn’t. We should love as God loves us. The Word of God teaches in Ecclesiastes 7:16 Be not overly righteous, and do not make yourself too wise. Why should you destroy yourself?
2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.
