Each morning, when we awake spending time with God should be first on our agenda. Instead we spend so much time preparing for our day, breakfast, the kids, hustle and bustle getting to work etc, that we forget the most important reason for our day is Jesus. Spending time with God prepares us mentally and spiritually, even physically so that we’re prepared for whatever the day brings. Proverbs 3:6 The Word of God teaches us that in all of our ways, thoughts, and preparations, acknowledge God and He will direct our paths. In 1 Chronicles 28:9 we are taught to acknowledge God, serve Him whole hardheartedly, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. James 1:5 tells us to seek God for wisdom and He will freely give it to us..
39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”
41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one.[a] Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
