The Word of God teaches us in John 8:12 “When Jesus spoke again to the people, He said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
Rejecting the way of the Lord only leads to destruction. Walking on the road of darkness is slippery and causes constant stumbles and falls. We can’t see pitfalls or traps, nor do we see the end of the road, but God can. The Word of God teaches us to trust in the LORD with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding; in all our ways submit to Him, and He will make our paths straight (Pro 3:5-6). Yet many continue to walk and sometime even run down wrong paths deeper into the darkness.
Jeremiah 6:16-17 (NLT)
16 This is what the Lord says:
“Stop at the crossroads and look around.
Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it.
Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls.
But you reply, ‘No, that’s not the road we want!’
17 I posted watchmen over you who said,
‘Listen for the sound of the alarm.’
But you replied,
‘No! We won’t pay attention!’
Instead of being lead by evil into self-destruction, pain and death, we should trust God’s to lead us in the right direction so that we find everlasting joy, peace and rest for our souls.
1 O Lord, I give my life to you.
2 I trust in you, my God!
Do not let me be disgraced,
or let my enemies rejoice in my defeat.
3 No one who trusts in you will ever be disgraced,
but disgrace comes to those who try to deceive others.
4 Show me the right path, O Lord;
point out the road for me to follow.
5 Lead me by your truth and teach me,
for you are the God who saves me.
All day long I put my hope in you.
Be blessed, keep God first and keep looking up,
