The Word of God teaches us to get rid of all bitterness, rage, and anger, brawling, and slander, along with every form of malice (Ephesians 4:31). We have to monitor the things we are allowing into our spirit as well as our response. Otherwise, we will allow space for sin to creep into our hearts and block our own blessing. We become our own stumbling block.
There is a lot of confusion and injustices are going on throughout this world. We are hearing it on the news, social media, or word of mouth from someone we know. However, we can’t speak negatively about others and expect God to move on our behalf. It’s important to remember that the Lord searches our hearts and examines our minds (Jeremiah 17:10). He knows our thoughts, what we say and does when we think no one is looking. So when we go before God in prayer, we should get rid of any malicious intent in our hearts. Ask the Lord to uproot anything in us that He is not pleased with. We have to deal with ourselves first. Take the plank out of our own eyes (Matthew 7:3-5). The Word of God instructs us to pray for each other, not condemn one another. When we pray, it creates love and unity making our prayers more effective.
Be blessed, keep God first and keep looking up,
Cheryl
